Day Two @ 1:11 PM
This morning, I was riding the train to work. I was barely awake and feeling just terrible, outside it was raining, everything was grey. I decided to take a picture of the greyness, decided to show the lack of colour, because really, isn't a lack of colour what January is all about?
Apparently it isn't, because when I tried to take that picture, the colourful insides of the train, the lights and the walls and the seats, were mirrored in the raindrop-covered windows and turned my grey, unhappy picture into a sea of colours. It was nice, and it made me smile. At least for a short moment.

Let's do this! @ 1:06 PM
Okay, so it it 9.30 at night on the first day of twentyfourteen. The new year is starting, and with it, the challenges are starting as well. Challenge number one is a photo challenge - I am going to take a photo every day in January. For this, I chose the theme "colour". I might take pictures with my phone and I might take pictures with my camera. We'll just have to see.
The first picture I took last night, as I was watching fireworks over the lake with friends. I guess you can't really get more colour than that - especially with an instagram filter put over it.
about this blog
my name is annika. this blog is a way to document my new years resolution for 2014. also, i would like to write down how it all works out. if it all works out.
in 2014, i am going to be presenting myself with a new challenge every month. some of them might be easy. some of them i might have done before, but who cares, i am the one making the rules. i haven't even decided on many of them. but yes. i am going to introduce every new challenge on the first of each month, and then i will blog about it.
i am really looking forward to it. challenges are what keeps me going. they seem to grab onto the tiny bit of discipline i have inside of me and not let it go until i am done. they're the only thing that makes me ambitious. so yes. i might be a bit scared, but i am also excited. let's do this!
about
things i could not live without.
clear night skies, the smoke over town when the sun rises, waterdrops on grass, flowers - just flowers, the smell of rain on hot asphalt,
feeling the wind on my face, receiving smiles from strangers, giving smiles to strangers, friendly old people, mean old people (as long as they're not mean
to me), colors - each and every one of them, laughing, hot cups of tea, poetry, the ticking of my alarm clock and falling in and out of love
over and over again.
challenges
what is happening, huh?
